felting
felting by hand using woolbale
1 ingredients Gather together the things you will need to do your felting:
• a bowl
• piece of knitting (knitted in Panda Woolbale)
• laundry soap
• rubber gloves.
2 wool in bowl warm water

Wearing the rubber gloves, put the knitting into the bowl and add enough boiling water to cover the knitting. Let it sit for a few seconds.

3 scrub wool Add enough cold water so you can put your hands in the water (it still needs to be hot). Rub soap into the knitting.
4 soap and scrub wool Bunch the knitting in your hands and rub it against itself, creating friction. Keep moving the knitting around, ensuring you cover the entire area. Occasionally dunk the knitting in the water.
Do this for about 5 minutes.
5 rinse in cold water Rinse the knitting in cold water. (This helps lock the fibres in place.) Repeat the entire process twice more then check how well your knitting has felted. If you can still see the stitches, repeat the entire process again.
6 lay flat to dry Lay your felted piece of
knitting out to dry.
Felted knitting can be:
• cut without the stitches unravelling
• brushed with a slicker brush (available at craft supply shops and pet stores) to create a brushed surface.
